Ready for Christmas?

And now, I can't believe it, we're at the end of November.

It's been a busy month. A little Christmas shopping here, a little decluttering the house there. Turns out that's a good thing, as we're in the process of buying another house! So we'll have to finish up our Christmas shopping, wrap some presents, and send them off to family in B.C. Then we'll be able to focus on clearing up and out of our current residence and moving into the new one. We won't actually have final access until just before Christmas, but we can certainly work on the planning and preparation process for the next few weeks! So exciting!

October almost gone...

And now that I've finally put up a photo for September's entry, it's almost the end of October. I guess I better provide an update for this month.

Well, instead of continuing work on my long-term quilt project, I've got sidetracked (but in a positive way) knitting a baby blanket for a friend who was due to have a baby in November. Well, the baby is here a little early (about 4 weeks by my estimation!) and the blanket is not quite done.

I'm making good progress, however, and will be able to deliver it (I think) before Jordan Sarah's predicted arrival date!

And here's a picture of this one...

Happy Hallowe'en!

September gone!

Guess I'm due for another post. I can't believe that September is almost over. Where does the time go?!?

So... what have I done this month? Well, I've intensified work on a long-term quilt project, and I've also continued work on a long-time embroidery project. The first is an old project from Canadian Living of trees through all the seasonal changes. The second is a project I first heard of from a friend of mine, that was also featured in Canadian Living; it's a table cloth with signatures of friends/relatives embroidered on it. This is the table cloth:

Another of this year's projects is to finish a sweater I've been knitting for quite a while.

And perhaps that's enough for this month.

Ciao!

Holidays gone :-(

So, I guess it's about time for another blog entry.

Well, so far, August was mainly taken up with our holiday to British Columbia. It was great! We spent a bit of time in Vancouver,

almost a week in the Queen Charlotte Islands,

about a week in Victoria,

and about a day and a night on Salt Spring Island.

We visited friends, visited family, ate lots, and drank a fair bit of local beer.

But now it's back to the real world. No more fun 'til February, I guess! (Kidding!)

July post

I guess I'm just about due for another post... well, I even have something to say. I believe I suggested earlier that this could be a quilt project discussion. I finished a quilt this month!

It's a baby quilt for a friend. I presented it at the shower in late June, though it wasn't quite finished. I managed to finish it over the last few weeks and took it over on Sunday. It does look rather nice, if I do say so myself. Let's see how it looks here...

Now I guess I can move on and finish a long-unfinished knitting project. Ciao for now.

All Quiet

Well, I just spent a little time looking around at the blogs of other people who identified quilting and sewing as hobbies. I guess they must be spending their time quilting or sewing and not blogging. I should be doing the same. Got a project with a deadline. Maybe I should start bringing it to work so I can quilt a little at lunchtime...

Frustration

OK. That whole "setting up my own blog in order to comment on a friend's" experience was somewhat annoying. I had 4 blogs by the time I'd finished. I figured out how to delete them and now I'm back to just 1.
